Phu Tho (VNA) – The northern midland province of Phu Tho has carried out all-round measures to improve tourism infrastructure, services, and offerings, elevating visitor experience and reinforcing the province’s unique cultural identity.
Across key destinations such as the Hung Kings Temple historical site, Xuan Son National Park, Thanh Thuy hot springs, and the Ao Gioi – Suoi Tien ecological zone, roads are being upgraded to facilitate travel from Viet Tri city to those tourist sites.
The infrastructure development extends beyond transport to encompass essential supporting amenities. Parking lots, directional signage, public restrooms, and many more have been expanded with tourist-friendly design.

Phu Tho has encouraged the building of diverse lodging systems ranging from modern hotels to community-based homestays in mountainous areas like Tan Son and Thanh Son, providing visitors with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the excellent cultural traditions of the Muong and Dao ethnic groups.
Service professionalisation has emerged as another stepping stone of the province's tourism strategy. Many attractions now feature electric vehicle transport, local guides, and speciality shops. The efforts contribute to creating convenient and memorable travel experiences that resonate long after visitors return home.

Notably, the province has paid due heed to renewing its tourism offerings, with spiritual, ecological, and community-based tourism programmes aligned with contemporary experience and leisure travel trends. Standout packages include eco-adventures through Long Coc tea hills, treks into Xuan Son National Park, and resort experiences at Thanh Thuy mineral springs with wellness services, spa, and nature-based retreat.
Spiritual tourism continues leveraging the province's advantages in its historic site network, including the Hung Kings Temple in Viet Tri city, Lang Suong Temple in Thanh Thuy district, Great Mother Au Co Temple in Ha Hoa district, which are all linked to form a sacred heritage journey. At the same time, Phu Tho has promoted traditional culinary and handicraft products including banh tai (ear-shaped cake), fermented pork, and Hung Lo rice noodles.
Safety and service quality are also among focuses as summer 2025 approaches. Tourism service businesses were requested to ensure absolute security and safety, particularly at water recreation sites. Transportation vehicles failing to meet technical standards are prohibited from operation. Besides, service providers must publicise prices, sell at fair rates, and avoid any practice that could damage visitor experiences.
Amidst rapid growth of online tourism, the province has intensified communications to raise public awareness of online travel fraud. Additionally, its Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has joined hands with competent authorities to ensure congestion-free travel throughout the province.
Local inspectors are monitoring key destinations to handle violations related to pricing, hygiene, safety, and quality in a timely fashion.

With the message of “Phu Tho - Travel to love”, tourism promotion activities are organised across multiple platforms like websites, YouTube and social media fanpages, to introduce the tourist sites, festivals, and specialities of the ancestral land. Videos and livestreams are bringing the province’s intangible cultural heritage, including Xoan singing, Tro Tam festival, and mountainous cuisine, to global audiences.
The participation in tourism expos and events in major cities is further helping position Phu Tho as a vibrant and cultural rich destination./.
